Collage to Rescue and a Surprise Visit

Just quickly, in the middle of the night, a couple of pieces which have needed something to make them work. Collage is my answer to most anything..."What is the meaning of life?--Collage!" "What shall we have for dinner?--Collage!" You fellow artists know how it is!

These are both, most definitely, works in progress.

I had a wonderful surprise on Friday. Cathyann stopped by my studio to visit while on a trip to Fredericksburg to drop off work for a regional art show. I was in the big middle of doing some challenging teaching, so I couldn't stop and have a comfortable chat as I wanted to, but it was great to meet a blogging friend in person. Thanks for coming by, Cathyann. Perhaps coffee next time?!

I'm starting to believe in collage, just from watching what you do with it.

That is so incredibly cool! The collage, the teaching, and Cathyann's visit!
I'm going to have to try collage again. Yours are beautiful even in progress.

Can't wait to see what wonderful things you have in store for these Elizabeth! And, I agree...you did have success in making your egrets a bit more prominent...happy collaging to you!

Great color. It is coming together pretty good. Like what you have done to the egrets. It seems to read pretty good

Hi Elizabeth,

I was trying to decide which of your pieces was my favorite and had the hardest time deciding -- it's down to the flamingos and egrets and elephant and this green forest jungle guy at the top here, and those are just my favorites on this page! I really do like your work and the fuzzy dreamlike feeling in a lot of them, and your colors are like being in the rainforest. I'm so happy to have found your site!
