Flamingo

A friend of mine let me use some of her photos of flamingos that she took while in Phoenix. These are relief prints using a soft block material and water soluble printmaking inks. My apologies to the individual bird as I do kind of put my own "stamp" on the work I do--heh. I printed a few (black ink) which I mean for framing, and the colored ones will be sold as cards in my shop at LibertyTown.

That's what I love about these prints "your own stamp" :) and not a trace of pink to be seen :)
I like soft block...it's been awhile since I carved any...Hmmm you have me interested!

Hi Elizabeth,
I love your carved flamingo. It's beautiful! Thanks so much for following my blog and I hope we can exchange ideas in the future. Can't wait to see what you do next!

Is soft block like the potato stamps that we made in school? Lovely lines, peaceful feeling.

Thanks, Jo and Nicole!

Saundra, wouldn't that be fun to be close enough to drop in on each other and work together?

Kathy, the feeling is mutual!

Jean--what I call soft block is like a big eraser, but meant especially for printmaking. It is really easy to carve, and can hold pretty fine lines.

Thanks so much Kathleen!

You guys are awesome. Thanks for your comments.
