Stopover on Spring Migration....

One for the Road, block print, 3 x 4, 2009

I have tried several times but can't get a very good photo of this block print of my friend on his way north, migrating for the summer. It must be hard to leave those tasty cocktails behind. I worked up the drawing and cut the block on Saturday.

Here's what I worked on today. I had planned to paint a rhea, but along the way it turned into more of a "duckish" creature. Funny how that happens!

Duck (temporary title!), acrylic over collage, 12 x 16, 2009

Love this one Elizabeth! The greens work so well with the light color of feathers...and the tail...great!

Your duck (for now) looks like it has a crown for its tail; very neat.

This guy just painted himself, if you know what I mean! Thanks for the positive feedback, Saundra and Jean.

Nice duck too!

Both are very pleasant to watch. I agree with Saundra the greens and the colors of the duck work great together.
