Finally, the Panel

The first layer of paint is actually on the panel which is due by the 21st of June.  Since I will be out of town on the due date, I will have to deliver it early.

It has been so fun to paint this large--and the best thing of all---I had to buy new huge brushes to complete it.  (But then, I find just about any occasion is a good one to buy art supplies!)

That is such a cool painting. I just love it. And you are so right, just about any reason is a good one to get new art supplies :)

Hi, Anudeepa. I am so proud of my son, and he was such a willing helper.

I'm glad you like the painting.

It looks even bigger to me with a painting on it than when it just had collage on it. You think it will scare small children??

Thanks, Elizabeth!

Ha! I thought you were joking about the cherry on the head of the bird, it's fabulous!!

Elizabeth Seaver said...

Thanks, Kathy!

I rarely joke about cherries on bird's heads, Dana. It's no laughing matter.

Of course, I don't bowl with them, either!

Thanks for stopping by. I really loved your cherry painting today!

What fun to see it taking shape! It is amazing to watch your process ... I always wondered how the magic happened. Ok so it is still totally magical because I have no idea how you do that LOL!

This painting is just fun!!! And the size makes it even more fun! You're work is sooooo creative. I have a feeling you are just as fun as your work. What was the inspiration for this piece?

Elizabeth Seaver said...

Hey, Paula! Yep, layers is something you and I have in common!

Thanks for the encouragement.

Elizabeth Seaver said...

Hey, Dode! I wish you could come paint with me. What fun we would have! It's not magic. It's sweat and art supplies!!

Hi, Bricarwaller: Thanks for such a nice compliment!

It's funny; this image/piece is an effort to combine all the things I love--layers, color, cupcakes and birds!

I just have these ideas pop into my head, kind of organically as I'm working on something else.

I'm very lucky to get to work every day at creating my art.

Your birdy looks fantastic! Thanks for including a photo of you beside it to give us a feel of how truly large it is.

Hi, Gwen. I'm cracking people up that I have to stand on a stool to paint the top. Thanks for stopping by!
