As the story goes on from the post entitled New Hat:
* * * * * *
"Maudie? Maudie!" Minerva honked at her friend's front gate. "Are you ready for the tea party?"
Maudie leaned out one of the front windows and called, "I'll be right there."
After a short wait, the door opened and Miss Maudie bustled out, shutting her front door firmly behind her.
"Oh, what a lovely chapeau, Maudie!" Minerva said immediately.
"And, you remembered to bake beetle brownies as you promised."
With Minerva leading the way, they flew a short distance and found the other Bossy Boots Club members already gathered in Minerva's flower garden.

This is so funny. I love your little stories that you write with your paintings. It's nice to know the personalities of your birds.
Thanks, Shari! They talk to me, you see...
This is so whimsical and so creative! Love the painting and the story. I feel a book coming on! Beetle Brownies...so funny. :)))))
Sugared snails and beetle brownies! You really should be writing and illustrating children's books! Such fun stories to go with your great paintings :) I do hope no one noticed the dirty wings from gardening since the chapeau was such a hit :)
THIS is GREAT .... I absolutely LOVE this
what a happy painting , so well done
You KNOW I agree with RH Carpenter. :)
This is soooo fun, Elizabeth!! As said before - you really do need to do a children's book! Your paintings and writing is so very creative. I always enjoy coming here and seeing what you have done. More, more!! :-)
Too funny, Elizabeth! Very cute.
Hi, Gwen. I'm so glad you like my silly feathered friends. A book, hmmm....
I hope not, too! The chapeau does seem to have been a great distraction from bossy Boots' critiques.
Thanks for stopping by Rhonda!
Thank you so much, Sandy. I'm so glad you like it.
Hi, Anna and Linda. Well, I am working on the idea. We'll see if the ideas keep flowing! Thanks so much for the encouragement.

Hey Elizabeth, this is one of my favourites - especially that bird bottom right...
No forget I said that, they are all my favourites. Your work has a sense of fun that makes me feel good - it's as if the birds have their own pesonalities
Such a beautiful painting with a story!
Thanks, Andrew and Megha. Thanks for visiting and taking the time to make a comment. I really appreciate it.
I see a book coming in the future... your paintings with the story (stories...) . Maybe a children's book...maybe a book for grown-up children that need a smile and chuckle :-).
Hi, Ariel. That may be what's stopping me--I can't decide who my audience is! Thanks for visiting me!
I have never once (not ever) clicked on your blog that I haven't smiled at seeing your new painting. I guess one could characterize your work whimsical..and yet, to me, your work is more than mere decoration. You are a serious artist who paints things that seem cheery and positive--Your work continually lifts the human spirit. If a person"is" what they paint..you are a good friend to all.
So creative and charming. It's like a children's story book. You should so do it!
The eyes! Aside from every other adorable thing, the eyes!! With the curly eyelashes!! :)
I will be smiling all day!
Your stories and paintings deserve a children's book!
Wow! How could anyone top Celeste's comment? I guess I'll just have to say that I concur.
...oh yeah, and I'm so glad I missed that party. Sounds like TOO much fun for me, although the menu sounded delicious.

One of my favorite illustrations. Yes, I agree you should write a book. Actually, you kind of already have one in progress. Find a publisher!
