Coming Up for Air

Reclamation, acrylic on canvas
 Elizabeth W. Seaver

 Parasol, acrylic on masonite
 Elizabeth W. Seaver

Thank you to those of you who have sent me kind emails wondering whether I was okay and saying nice things about my blog.  I appreciate your attentions.

It has been a bit of a struggle, creatively, for the last few months.  I feel like I've broken through the barrier, though, and I really want to get back to writing and showing my art and visiting your blogs, too.

Enough said...the above are a couple of pieces which were vehicles for overcoming my dry spell, by allowing me to work with color, pattern and masking.

My plan is to have a story for next time...

Well, your dry spell did you well. This is vibrant and full of energy. Sometimes for whatever reason we feel burned out and lose our enthusiasm. I think you just need to go with it although I'm sure that's frustrating and tough in itself. But glad to "hear" your voice and see such gorgeous work emerge ; )

I missed you, too; funny, I just stopped by here yesterday and noticed how long it had been since you've posted. The new work is very exciting; yay for you and hope to see you soon.

Both of these paintings are bubbling over with personality and creativity. Love them!

Hey, must be something in the air. I've been in a 4 month slump and am hearing from so many others in the same boat. Something tells me there is about to be a big bang of creativity on the blogs following all of this dormancy!

I'm so ridiculously behind on keeping up with my favorite art blogs, so as I was looking at everything I've missed this really caught my eye. Such beautiful colors!
