Greeting the Morning, collage/acrylic, 4 x 4
Elizabeth W. Seaver
Sometimes, though I hate to rush the precious hours of my life, it is just nice to go to sleep and know that the morning is coming. Waking up in a new day feels like a chance to make things right, to deal with the bumps in my particular road a little bit better this time. What we call at my house "do overs."
And so this little birdie reminds me about fresh starts and new intentions. There were great things about yesterday after all. I feel grateful again for the people around me and for my life--puking cat and all.

I really enjoy your work! It's so creative. I feel the same about new days and new beginnings. Very nice piece.
Hi, Karen--thanks so much for stopping by to leave a comment. I appreciate it!
There's something about morning; you express it well.
My Mom always says "Things will look better in the morning..."
Hi, Jean: Thank you so much!
They do look better in the morning, don't they Anna. Especially if the sun came out when you didn't expect to see it all day! Woo-hoo!
Yes, as Scarlett said: Tomorrow is another day ; ) This piece is lovely is workmanship and sentiment.
Hi, Kim: Yes, I think that is my favorite line from Gone with the Wind. I'm glad you visited.
Oh, yes. I know all about those days. Thank goodness for the chance to start a new day ... and for your wonderful art and post!
Hi, Kathy: Thanks so much for dropping by. I have been reading your great posts about the current book. Fascinating stuff and interesting remarks from your followers.
yes, I can identify with those kind of days. Your little wren is so wonderful, he's cheerful and perfect. Do you work better in a good mood or not so good?
I always put out lots of work when I'm down.
Hi, Carole: Hmmm. Good question. I think I can work well in either frame of mind. I really have to discipline myself to get work done, so that can carry me through most moods!
Thanks so much for your comments on my posts.
I believe in fresh starts...morning always brings a feeling of a new chance or that at least you have all day to make it right! Love your Birdsong!
New days are worth celebrating! Wonderful bird - it looks ready to take it all in.
Lovely little bird! So cheerful.
What a charmer this piece is! I could see it hanging on a bedroom wall so that it is what one sees first upon waking and setting the right mood for the day!
Love this morning bird Elizabeth! and...I HEAR YA! Hope your mornings are as happy as the beautiful work you share makes me!!
Love this bird, so rich and bright, gorgeous!!! I could relate to your post too!!
Oh and I meant to say last time that i love your profile pic, it makes me laugh every time I see it! :0)
I can so relate, we have puking kitties, large slobbery doggies, and teething, non-sleeping children. I love your painting this week, what a nice cheery reminder that tomorrow is a new day.
Très expressif... renouveau toujours exquis...
Nice, Elizabeth. He just seems to be saying, "A hundred years from now it just won't make any difference."
Your post made me laugh and your paintings make me smile!
I love this one very much! I had a new start today, too; having had a revelation yesterday. This little wren reminds me of morning. I love listening to the "tea-kettle, tea-kettle, tea-kettle" of the Carolina Wrens in the morning.
Those puking cats can really ruin a day!! Glad you know that tomorrow is another day (as Scarlett O'Hara always said) and this little bird will definitely make it a good day!
I've had a few days like that this week! But I'm always very grateful for that fresh start the next day, and even more grateful if it doesn't include cat puke.
It’s always a pleasure
to see such a Wonderful Work
