Shady Spots, WIP, collage/acrylic, 18 x 36
By Elizabeth W. Seaver
On I go exploring the world of umbrellas in collage and acrylic paint.
I SO want to be sitting in this painting (where you cannot see me in my bathing costume!) I'd be able to feel the salty, humid wind whistling by my ears. Occasionally, I'd hear the call of a gull over the roar of the surf. And endlessly, I'd see the waves roll onto the sand nearer and nearer my sheltered spot.
This piece isn't finished. I still must work on the sand and shadows. But this photo gives you an idea of what I have in mind.
Welcome, new followers. Thanks for such lovely comments everyone.
This is going to be a nice piece. So sunny and bubbly. It does make you think of being on the beach on a warm, sunny day.
Thanks, Michelle! I am so ready!
Just when I think you've got all the angles you think of another...LOVE IT!! I'm with you...HATE the bathing suit thing!! Ahhh life and growing more ...soft...ha!
Oh Elizabeth...this evokes lovely summertime memories. Well done! I like the colour scheme on this - the green waves are a nice twist.
Yes, growing plushy. But we care less what other people think, right?....right?
Thanks, Kim. Trying to decide what color to do the waves slowed me down for a bit. I appreciate your comment!
I think I'll hang out under the umbrella with the music playing...
Great job, yet again.
Music....I forgot the music...thanks Don, for your visit!
Sur la plage abandonnée... et sous les parasols colorés... rien de mieux...
Thank you so much for becoming a follower, martinealison!
I love the waves - so playful! Suits me mood today, now if only it were beach weather.
I'm all for beach weather, but I guess I can cope. We've had warm (in the 60's) and breezy for several days. Today's cold rain WILL not dampen my spirits.
I'm glad you came by to imagine my beach with me, Katherine!
Ah yes..the sun...now where is that??? this lends some cheer on a dreary day...looks good so far....loving the progress reports.:-)
your work always makes me smile - you put alot of goodness into it :)
Beautiful Elizabeth, wish I could be there too, and looking forward to your next phase!
this is such fun, as is all your art, i have enjoyed looking at things tonight...love your sense of color and movement!
