Ack! Too much time has gone by since my last post (sounds like I'm in the confessional!)
I have been busy hanging a portrait show at LibertyTown, which is fabulous. Check it out on LibertyTown's Facebook page.
Lost in New Orleans, 6 x 6, collage and acrylic. I finished this earlier this week, so I actually have something productive to show!
I have invested in tons of small canvases and wooden shadow boxes and spent yesterday collaging them with maps. I plan a series of bird portraits in a non-traditional style, if you can believe it of me.
Happy creating, everyone!
Elizabeth! You have inspired me once again. I absolutely ADORE your birds...well...I'm still thinking of the cupcakes, so I love it all! I would especially love your opinion on my blog post today...YOU are one artist that I've thought about as I go through this journey I'm goin on! JUST LOVE WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!
you are giving me ideas......hmm...
Thank you so much for working to hang the Portrait show. The two promo images look great.
I can't wait to come see it.
Best as always, C
Great ideas! I really love to use maps in artwork. Can't wait to see more of your series! One tiny critique of the ostrich: the small lake(?) at the tip of its beak is slightly distracting.
great post, lady! love the maps - they've always been a favorite of mine, as well - and have even wallpapered walls with them - covered anything you can think of - anyway, great little pieces and i'll have to check out the facebook site - have a great day - jenean
PS Elizabeth...what is the address for Liberty Town Facebook site?? Would love to join to see what is up!!
I really like this idea and love "Lost in New Orleans." Can't wait to see more!
These look like a great beginning. I will have to come back to check. :-)
Love the map idea. I've always found the abstractness of maps so appealing. Can't wait to see what you do with these!
Great small canvases!
Hi. I awarded you with the Honest Scrap Award! You may already know what to do but basically you let people know 10 honest facts about yourself and then pass the award along to 7 other people.
Charming ostrich. I empathize; I'm always getting lost.
I LOVE THIS!
This is such a great piece. I love the idea of maps as backgrounds. And this bird image is perfect!!
You are forgiven your lapse... and believed about your new idea for the canvases - very cool! Love the Lost in New Orleans - what a sense of humor you have!
These are wonderful E.!!
Thanks for all your comments, folks. I really appreciate the support and constructive help. You are the best!
